Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Intelligence Training
The challenge
Global companies face concrete challenges in translating their commitments to diversity and inclusion into effective actions in the territories where they operate. In the case of The Walt Disney Company Brazil , there was a desire to prepare leaders for more inclusive recruitment and selection processes, especially in brands such as ESPN , FOX , Star+, and Disney+ , focusing on intersectionality and reducing unconscious biases.
At Trident Energy , which operates in five countries (Equatorial Guinea, Congo, United Kingdom, Brazil, and France), the challenge was to create a more welcoming and collaborative environment among highly culturally diverse teams—with distinct nationalities, languages, and communication patterns, often leading to noise and misunderstandings in daily interactions.
What we did
As an associate consultant at the London-based EW Group, Salomão led two bespoke projects:
🎬 Inclusive Recruitment Training – The Walt Disney Company (Brazil)
A brief diagnosis of practices and gaps in the recruitment process.
Content customization focusing on unconscious biases, diversity of profiles, and equity.
Conducting online training sessions with leaders from various areas, including ESPN, FOX, and Disney+.
Encouraging the development of new questions and approaches during interviews.
Integrating the agenda with the brand's values and with the local realities of racial and social inequality.
🌍 Cultural Adaptability Training – Trident Energy (multi-country)
Mapping the main cultural clashes and communication patterns between teams from 5 countries.
Development of workshops on cultural codes, leadership styles, and empathetic listening.
Practical activities on trust, respect, and coexistence in remote and in-person work.
Participants from Equatorial Guinea, Congo, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and France, with simultaneous translation and multicultural mediation.
Emphasis on the importance of invisible cultural codes and the construction of a common vocabulary.
Impacts generated
Raising awareness and preparing Disney leaders to conduct more inclusive and strategic recruitment processes.
Highly positive feedback from participants, with reports of real change in attitudes and approaches.
Significant improvement in intercultural communication within Trident's teams , with strengthened empathy, clarity in interactions, and a reduction in subtle cultural conflicts.
Strengthening the DEI agenda as a performance tool, not just a reputation tool.
